The Art Miles Mural Project at Charity Wings Art Center

murals3

Last weekend, The Art Miles Mural Project presented a FREE Intergenerational Mural Marathon at the Charity Wings Art Center continuing their quest to create 12 miles of murals and "Be Together"

murals13

The Art Miles Mural Project is a passionate and colorful 12 year movement combining the efforts of children and adults worldwide to promote global peace and harmony through mural art. (from the Art Miles Mural Project mission statement).

We are very excited and proud to have been able to take part in this amazing project, creating murals for Moore, Oklahoma and the city of Boston as well as intergenerational murals with parents, grandparents, children and others!

We’re very appreciative to everyone who came out to take part in this event.  We were even joined by the girls from the Vista Scholarship Pageant who worked hard on our Oklahoma mural.

To learn a bit more about The Art Miles Mural Project and Charity Wings Art Center, check out the video coverage of the event above.

A special thank you to the San Marcos Arts Council for providing all the art materials for the mural marathon.

National Scrapbook Day 2013 Recap

nsdcrop

What do you get when you mix the Charity Wings Art Center with a Robin’s Nest 15th anniversary celebration and a National Scrapbook Day crop?   FUN FUN FUN!  Even better than that we raised money for the amazing organization, TERi Inc., whose mission is to change the way the world sees people with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Croppers joined us in Oceanside, CA for this crop AND we did a LIVE STREAM of  the event with challenges, demos, make n takes,  and fun giveaways!  You can see the recording of the livestream here.

rockinredrobinCheck out one of the super make n take demos we did during this event above!  Isn’t this wall hanging from West Coast Stamper/Rockin’ Red Robin lovely?

We so appreciate the support all of you have given us for this and other events!  We could never do this without all of you behind us.  This note from Greg of TERi Inc. touched us deeply and we wanted to share it with all of you because YOU are such an important part of our team!

Elena and the Charity Wings Team,

I cannot express the appreciation I have for your generosity of time and spirit! That you would pull together a group of caring individuals to selflessly give to our organization is a remarkable statement of what Charity Wings is all about…giving to those who are less fortunate. The fact that everyone seem to enjoy the event and appreciate the spirit in which they were brought together is further evidence of the innate goodness of your group.
